GOOD AND BAD

"children of the future age, reading this indignant page,

know that in a former time love! sweet love!was thought a crime" - william blake.

How can we judge what is good or bad. actually, there is no such thing as good or bad the thruth is that there only facts and it is the judgemental people who make it good or bad. then it would mean even a psycho path killer can also be good, according to him. won't there be chaos in the world by such arguments?

yes of course it would. to understand this logic we must know that there are three kinds of people in the world, firstly, people who fly high without any controls. They consider themselves to be free spirits, so much that they don't care to set any kind of morals in any manner whatsoever. these are the people who mostly take into crimes and guilty actions which are not approved of by the society. and because the society does not approve them or they don't approve or fit into the society, they are lost, they fly high and get lost because they didnt care to take controls of their flight.

the second category is the most populated one. these are the people who dare not fly at all. they pin their morals upto so much and on such illogical and irrelevant things in life that they never experience the blissful feeling of flying high. their flights never take off, and because they never experience the feeling of flying they start resisting it and in their attempt to resist they start teaching and preachimg their children the dangers of flying and grow them up into someone who believes that flying is a sin.

the third type of people are those who definitely fly high but have the controls of their flight in their hands. these are the clever ones. these are the peoplewho know how to turn their wings according to the harsh winds and survive. they set their morals upto some level where the society is satisfied and even they have saved their freedom. these people believe that one may never follow another's morals, because one may never face the other's sky. the only way to connect or to have a relation with the other is to respect the other's sky and fly together in their own respective skies. but sadly, our society has been left with very few of such clever people.

thus, the concept of good and bad varies from society to society, from time to time and from person to person. we can never judge a truth, we can only accept it and learn from it.

SHAMELESS

In her autobiography written by Nalini jamila, a female sex worker confessed that she gave her daughter a choice as to wheter she wants to take up prostitution as a profession or not. this gave rise to major media hype, celebitites were called up and a debate was organised.

prostitution is not a newly discovered profession, it has been in the country for centuries now. the most properous and peaceful period was the golden age guptas and apparently, this was the time when the most erotic book of all time "KAMASUTRA" was written. in fact, this was the only recorded time in which women in the society enjoyed a proper status. sex educatio was not considered a taboo and women who were vaishyas were not looked down on.

it is verysimple for you and me to say, BANNING it is the best possible way to curb this bussiness but on a second note if we think, what about the women who are earning their daily bread from it? due to our neglect, other institutions manage to take undue advantage. the police torture them to no end. their complaints are never registered, in fact, at times they are trown behind the bars for no fault of their own. AIDS is the biggest threat harrowing them because usually men refuse to use protection even when asked.

the need of the hour is a proper "LAW". Legalisation of this bussiness is required in today's date because this would mean thousands of women will stand up for their rights. they won't be forced anymore. ofcourse, the restrictions need to be worked out. the law should provide that anyone who force someone to go in to such bussiness must be punished severely. secondly, only men or women above 25yrs of age should have the rights to go for this profession and thirdly, there must be proper paper work done and licences be issued only for those who are willing to take it up as a profession. fourthly, government must allot them a proper place with concern of sanitation, away from their home so as to provide their children a clean environment mentally and physically. but the root of problems is the involvement of private agents or the middlemen. this is what needs to be dealt with.

even if we cannot give them the due respect on grounds of immorality, the least we can do is give them their due share of roghts. sounds cliche'd but the fact remains that in a society where women are worshipped as goddesses, such a huge percentage of them are suffering every single.

what a shame?

promoting casteism

PROMOTING CASTEISM

Affirmative action in educational institutions has created a panic among the students. They argue that this would lower down the competitiveness among the private companies. They want a justice for other caste students.
When Dr. Ambedkar brought these reservations in the constitution it was in the hope that within 10yrs they will not be required. But now it seems that these actions are being misused at the hands of today’s economically upper class. No doubt, that because of these affirmative actions there has a lot of change in the lives of many lower caste people but this effect can be seen in not more that 20% lower caste families.
When was the last time you hear that a SC/ST or lower caste man was beaten up or harassed by anyone just for the reason that he/she was of lower caste? Although we may hear such cases, but please remember to read between the lines that he/she was a poor SC/ST and he/she was not harassed for just being SC/ST and he/she but was an economically poor person. This takes up the point that shouldn’t there be some more reservations for economically backward SC/ST?
It seems that our political leaders are so obliged to their voters that they do not want to annoy them by taking up such petty issues.
Truly, it is a curse to be born in a lower caste family in India and much worse if you belong to unidentified tribal community. It seems that the magical wand of reservations is just not doing its magic. As consequences of these laws SC/ST are definitely being encouraged to come up and we can see it in the field of civil services as IAS and many other bureaucrats. What now happening is that the children of these bureaucrats are availing the privileges of the reserved quotas and those people who really deserve and really need such reservations are left behind.
Although, we agree that the lower caste did not have a pleasant history in India but after the independence they have had enough of reserved quotas which should by now made up for the unequal or suppressed history. Today it seems that such discriminative laws are binding and not letting the situation of the lower caste to change instead it is helping the problem to survive. Because of such reservations people are willing to be labeled as SC/ST.
My argument is not anti-reservationists but I oppose the reservation on the basis of caste. Even a son of a non SC/ST but economically poor man wants to study and get a job. If the laws itself discriminate on the basis of caste, then what else can you expect from the people governed by that law.
What we need today is a revision of these laws. Some amendments must be made supporting the reservation on the basis of economical situation rather than caste. There are rich lower caste people taking undue advantage of the affirmative laws and also there are poor upper caste people who are unable to make their children study in this expensive competitive world.
When we say equality for all then we must mean it.
Talking about the reservations in educational institutions on the basis of caste is just another way of poisoning the little liberal minds of the students by bringing caste into it. In the effort to eradicate casteism we are somehow promoting it.
